Born in Canals, (Valencia, 1982). She made her saxophone studies in Castellón, Valencia, Paris and Amsterdam, where she finished her Master with “Cum Laude” in the prestigious Arno Bornkamp class in 2009.
Juani has been dedicated to music and saxophone for more than 20 years, receiving advice from musicians such as David Alonso, Jean-Denis Michat, Claude Delangle, MB Charrier, Jean-Marie Londeix, Pedro Iturralde, Vincent David, Walter van Hawe, among others. .
She has been awarded numerous prizes in Spain and abroad, which has led her to play in countries such as Holland, France, Germany, Colombia, Russia, Japan and China.
Requested as a collaborator in orchestras, she has worked with the Madrid Symphony Orchestra for the Royal Theater, the JONDE, JOSC, JJ.MM World Orchestra, NJO, Musicaeterna and Vrije-Universiteit Orkest Amsterdam, Radio Filarmonish Orkest or Mahler Chamber Orchestra under the baton from Gunter Schüller, Eliahú Inbal, Pablo Heras-Casado, Arturo Tamayo, Josep Vicent, Teodor Currentzis, Edo de Waart or Barbara Hannigan.
She forms a duo with the pianist Juan Carlos Cornelles and is a member of the Barcelona Reed Quintet and Zavasax. From this group is born the Alcosax project – Course and Festival of saxophone – of which she is artistic director.
Juani worked in the “Banda Municipal de Barcelona” from 2010 till 2018.
In 2018 she moved to The Netherlands, where she became a member of the Berlage saxophone Quartet.
Juani combines this intense concert and pedagogical activity with her work in the Berlage Saxophone Quartet.
