«Fiesta» Abcoude Concerten

Trio Abril is a newly formed Dutch chamber ensemble featuring saxophonists Juani Palop and Arno Bornkamp, and pianist Frank van de Laar. The combination of two saxophones and piano shares certain qualities with the traditional piano trio, yet its repertoire has a distinctive character, much of it composed in the past two decades—making the “saxophone–piano trio” a formation with a promising future.

Recent projects include the recording of their debut album with the German label Genuin and their participation in the World Saxophone Congress in Harbin, China, with the world premiere of Katsu! by Klaas de Vries.
