«Feier/Fire» – Muziek in het Park!

Together with singers Martijn Cornet and Karin Strobos, Berlage Saxophone Quartet  created a musical performance about how people deal with an approaching crisis.

The starting point is music from the 1920s, composed and arranged for saxophone quartet and two voices by Wijnand van Klaveren. This period is part of a turning point in music history, where the saxophone made waves in both classical and popular music. The pieces we choose are meant to express a jovial atmosphere with a serious undertone, a very special characteristic of the time.
